Job Summary
Perform preventive maintenance inspections, service, and repairs on large manufacturing equipment, including cleaning, oiling, lubricating, and changing belts to ensure optimal working conditions. Identify root causes of unexpected breakdowns, repair machinery quickly to decrease downtime, and record all work performed while ordering and installing replacement parts. Clean, organize, inventory, and maintain shop areas, tools, and supplies. Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance, collaborate on product modifications, and implement test runs based on product manager feedback. Identify improvement opportunities and lead or participate in solution implementation while wearing required PPE to promote a zero-accident culture.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Vocational certificate in appropriate field (i.e. welding, maintenance, electrical, etc.) preferred
- Ability to take and pass internal required testing
- Mechanically inclined with relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and understand schematics, blueprints, etc. to diagnose problems with manufacturing equipment
- Good computer literacy with ability to enter work records in appropriate program
- Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization in a timely and professional manner
- Ability to handle and resolve most issues in an efficient and effective manner
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects, planning skills, and a high attention to detail
- Must possess a strong customer-centric attitude, high energy level and a strong sense of urgency
- Ability to work extended shifts (holiday, weekend and/or extended) as business need requires
- Ability to work in cold/ humid or hot/ dusty environments as needed
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, crawling, stooping, kneeling, etc. with ability to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery
- Must be able to visually inspect machines
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Vocational certificate in appropriate field (i.e. welding, maintenance, electrical, etc.) preferred
- Multi-lingual strongly preferred
