Job Summary
Develop and implement policies for receiving and prioritizing maintenance requests while creating schedules for preventative inspections to identify facility needs. Lead a team in executing repairs, managing inventory, and ensuring all work complies with internal policies and external regulations. Direct personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination while resolving building challenges and reporting ownership requirements. Contribute to strategic planning and goal setting in collaboration with senior management, establish departmental procedures, and lead safety committee training initiatives. Approach all guest and employee encounters with a service-oriented manner while maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 5 years of engineering leadership experience in a hotel or comparable industry
- Valid driver's license for the applicable state
- Acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Driving Record) property specific
- Ability to convey information and ideas clearly
- Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Ability to work well in stressful, high pressure situations
- Ability to be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
- Ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from disparate sources and consider, adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need
- Ability to be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying the issues raised by co-workers and guests
- Ability to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Extensive experience with the concepts and principles of one or more related fields or departments
Desired Qualifications
- Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.)
