Job Summary
Competence Manager Operational Technology and Security responsible for owning and maintaining the NL OT and Physical Security Master Plans, translating long-term strategy (5–10 years) into roadmaps, standards, and operational requirements, and acting as a 3rd-line technical authority. Lead design reviews with third-party engineers, optimize asset and system performance across OT and security domains, and balance reliability, cost efficiency, business continuity, and risk. Drive strategy, performance improvement, innovation, and maintenance optimization; develop demand with IT and CRE Center of Excellence; collaborate with Facility Management, Risk & Business Assurance, and Core IT to translate policy into scalable operational solutions. Manage external engineering firms, IT providers, and security consultancies, monitor performance indicators, and ensure delivery alignment with organizational goals. Role focused in the Netherlands with up to 10% regional support; requires Master’s degree in OT/Security or related field (or Bachelor’s with significant experience), ASIS PSP certification, strong OT and physical security expertise, knowledge of OT networks and cybersecurity, and excellent English communication (Dutch highly preferred). Based in the NL (Veldhoven area) with extensive stakeholder collaboration and a proactive, results-driven mindset.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Operational Technology, Security Management, or a related field; alternatively a Bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience
- Certified ASIS PSP (Physical Security Professional) or equivalent certification
- Strong expertise in OT systems, including strategy, design, and process optimization
- Solid background in physical security within complex or high-tech environments
- In-depth knowledge of OT security topics and related risk management practices
- Familiarity with building and smart systems (e.g. HVAC, office occupancy, SMART systems)
- Proactive mindset with interest in innovation, including AI-based solutions and process safety systems
- Skills: Strong communication in English; Dutch highly preferred
- Ability to collaborate and manage multiple stakeholders
- Results-driven with ownership and accountability
- Self-starter with proactive and solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to plan, structure, and align activities around people and processes
- Clear and efficient communicator capable of conveying complex topics concisely
