Job Summary
Administer compensation programs and processes for union and non-union employees, preparing salary recommendations for new hires, promotions, and ad hoc changes. Conduct audits and data validation to identify errors or non-compliance, then investigate discrepancies and coordinate corrections. Coordinate job evaluation requests, review submissions, and prepare materials for the Job Evaluation Committee, including scheduling meetings and tracking outcomes. Maintain accurate compensation data, job profiles, and tracking systems while supporting annual salary implementations and related projects. Respond to inquiries via email and Workday inbox, triaging items to appropriate team members.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant subject or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience supporting compensation or other data-intensive human resources programs, including compensation analysis, salary administration, reporting and data validation
- Familiarity with relevant legislation, regulations, and collective agreements related to compensation and employment standards
- Ability to analyze compensation information and prepare salary recommendations using established criteria
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, including ability to validate data and identify discrepancies
- Ability to review job documentation, write and edit job descriptions, and prepare preliminary information and analysis to support job evaluations
- Excellent written and verbal communication for preparing letters, meeting notes, and correspondence
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain organized records
- Ability to distinguish routine matters from issues requiring interpretation or escalation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and experience with database management
- Ability to work collaboratively with P&C teams, JEC Committees and other departments
- Ability to promote and embody inclusivity and respect within the workplace and the broader community
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting job evaluation processes in a unionized environment
- CHRP designation
- Certified or coursework in compensation management or Human Resources
- Experience with the Hay Method of job evaluation
- Experience with Workday
