Job Summary
Assist licensed Physical Therapists with patient evaluations and implement modifications to individualized treatment plans based on their guidance. Instruct and supervise patients in therapeutic exercises while employing modalities such as heat, cold, and electrical stimulation to alleviate pain and restore function. Educate patients and families about home exercise programs, thoroughly document progress and treatment outcomes, and maintain accurate patient records. Engage in effective communication with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination of care for a diverse population including orthopedic surgery recoveries, stroke survivors, and those managing chronic conditions.
Required Qualifications
- An Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited institution
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in California
- A commitment to professional development and adherence to ethical standards in patient care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine kindness and empathy in patient interactions
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, contributing to a supportive team dynamic
