Compartment Manufacturing Engineer

Job Summary
Represent Manufacturing in all interactions with Product Engineering, Program Teams, and Architecture Leads to ensure manufacturability and ergonomic feasibility. Analyze product designs, communicate risks and design changes, and enforce compliance with General Assembly strategies while tracking and escalating deviations. Plan, conduct, and assess virtual studies including VR reviews, static and dynamic simulations, and process virtual builds throughout the Vehicle Development Process. Identify ergonomic issues and communicate them to the program ergonomist for resolution. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering required with two years of experience as a Maintenance Area Supervisor or Manufacturing Engineer. Two years of experience with Manufacturing Engineering, Program Launch, and Assembly Plant processes, plus one year with Systems Manufacturing Engineering and Global Vehicle Development processes. Hybrid work policy: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field of study
- Two (2) years of experience as a Maintenance Area Supervisor, Senior Engineer – Trim, Manufacturing Engineer, or related occupation
- Two (2) years of experience with Manufacturing Engineering, including Program Iaunch, Execution, and Assembly Plant
- Two (2) years of experience with Product design compliance with manufacturing requirements and assembly plant processes
- One (1) year of experience with Systems Manufacturing Engineering processes, including Manufacturing Planning Studies, Value added Assembler, Manufacturing Requirements Data Base, Engineering Changes Database, Issue, Best practice, Manufacturing Requirements databases, Design for Assembly, Process Failure Mode Analysis System and processes
- One (1) year of experience with Global Vehicle Development process, Global Launch Process, Problem Resolution Tracking System, and Lean Material Strategies, Bill of Equipment, Bill of process
- One (1) year of experience with Development of new vehicle programs including assembly build of process, manufacturing requirements, vehicle systems global strategies and inter-buildability and flexibility requirements
- One (1) year of experience with Vehicle assembly manufacturing plants including product and process designs during early development of new vehicle programs
- Must be able to report to local office
