Job Summary
Patrol hospital campuses, conduct room searches, issue citations, and apprehend suspects while responding to medical emergencies and assisting with fire drills. Collect and preserve evidence, maintain order and public safety, and provide security escorts for personnel. Perform other duties as required to meet client needs, including chauffeur services for division heads and visitors. Maintain proficiency in firearms use and attend periodic training sessions and seminars. Work in various environments including cold weather, rain, snow, or heat, occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds and climbing stairs or ladders. Full-time, part-time, weekend-only, and on-call shifts available with a starting rate of $37.50 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Currently sworn, non retired Police Officer
- At least 21 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED
- Police ID
- VPEC
- Firearm certification
- North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement certification
- Able to work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat
- Able to occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
- Able to climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
- Able to stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
- Attend required periodic training sessions and seminars
- Maintain required level of proficiency in the use of firearms
