Job Summary
Guide eligible youth ages 14-24 through a comprehensive employment program under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act by assessing needs, matching candidates with resources, coaching, and support for education or financial assistance. Provide direct services via phone, email, online, or in person while collaborating with agencies to maximize resources. Represent the program at community events and meetings, manage participant records, and mentor staff and volunteers. Work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Maintain accurate documentation of program progress and provide input on departmental goals.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree from an accredited college, university or technical school in management, public or business administration or a field related as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment
- one year of professional experience in health, customer service, human services, or a closely related field
- One year of experience with Pima County as a Community and Workforce Specialist I or similar Pima County position
- Valid driver license
- Valid AZ driver license
- A Level one Fingerprint Clearance Card
- a Criminal History Self Disclosure Affidavit
- a Central Registry background check
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum one (1) year experience working with and assisting job seekers
- Minimum one (1) year experience providing support services and community resources to the public
- Minimum one (1) year experience in data entry
- Minimum one (1) year experience delivering education or workforce services to at-risk youth and high school dropouts ages 16-24
