Job Summary
Community Technician role focused on monitoring a residential program for individuals experiencing homelessness, performing rounds, screening residents and visitors at the front door, creating written documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes), managing supplies and fire safety drills, providing emergency first aid/CPR/NARCAN as needed, assisting with inspections/audits, escorting clients and serving meals, and maintaining a clean, orderly facility. Handles conflict with safety-minded, empathetic communication, supports safety protocols, and contributes to a collaborative team in a high-demand urban setting.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- CPR Certification or the ability to obtain certification required
- NYC Fire Safety Guard Certification or the ability to obtain certification required
- NYC Fire Safety Coordinator Certification preferred; employees must be willing to attempt to acquire certification
- Security guard license preferred; employees must be willing to attempt to acquire license
- Food Handler Certificate preferred; employees must be willing to attempt to acquire certification
- TB clearance when required
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness preferred; effectively communicate with others both in writing and orally; ability to maintain professional boundaries; basic computer literacy required
- Bilingual abilities a plus
