Community Support Worker

Job Summary
Provide individual and group support to residents experiencing homelessness across The Open Door and Flagstaff programs, promoting independent living skills, wellbeing, recreation, and social engagement. Plan and facilitate group activities that meet residents' social, health, educational, and recreational needs. Support access to internal and external services, including health, mental health, AOD, and therapeutic programs. Collaborate with caseworkers and partner services to foster a trauma-informed, strength-based environment that helps residents regain control of their lives and move toward sustainable, independent living. Maintain accurate records, manage risks, participate in rostered tasks, and contribute to a respectful team culture.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Services or a related field
- Experience in homelessness or housing services (desirable)
- Current Working with Children's Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work in trauma-informed, strengths-based approach
