Job Summary
Provide personal care and support for daily living while promoting independence and dignity. Assist with meal preparation, light household tasks, and gardening to build positive, long-standing relationships with clients. Work independently to contribute to individual goals and quality of life, covering rotating rosters including AM, PM, weekend shifts, and overnight periods between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM. Maintain a supportive mindset to help service users achieve independent living goals in the Hamilton community.
Required Qualifications
- A Full New Zealand Driver's License
- Legal right to work in New Zealand
- Flexibility to work on a rotating roster
- Comfortable covering between the hours 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM and 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM (sleepover shifts)
- A supportive mindset to help our Service Users achieve their goals for independent living in the community
- Ability to drive Independently
Desired Qualifications
- Interest in supporting people with health-related issues or a disability
- Caring, reliable, and motivated
- Great communication skills and a good sense of humour
- Enjoys working independently and using initiative
- Likes practical and hands-on work
- Prior personal care experience
- Familiarity with complex medical conditions, like spinal injuries
- A Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification
- Students pursuing studies in Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Engineering, Health Sciences, or related fields
