Job Summary
Community Support Worker provides front desk and outreach support at the Centre in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, assisting community members with access to housing, recovery programs, shelter, clothing, and other resources. Responsibilities include monitoring facility access, providing information and referrals, documenting interactions, liaising with service providers, building relationships with community members, encouraging engagement with services when appropriate, maintaining records, keeping the Centre and office space orderly, participating in staff and spiritual development, planning projects under supervision, and ensuring safety and compliance with policies. The role requires collaboration with internal teams and external providers, caring communication, confidentiality, and the ability to work in a dynamic, sometimes crisis-driven environment. The position is casual with no guaranteed hours, located in Vancouver, BC, Canada, with shifts that may include day, afternoon, evening, and overnight hours, and may involve on-call duties.
