Job Summary
Community Support Staff / In-Home Supports (IHS) role providing a personalized blend of in-home and in-community services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include 1:1 in-home and in-community support, assisting with daily activities (personal care, meal preparation, transportation, housekeeping, laundry), maintaining a clean and safe living environment, and fostering independence. Develop skills in community participation, health, safety and wellness, household management, and adaptive skills; provide coaching, mentoring, and progress reporting; participate in team meetings and communicate with support teams. Must have a valid driver's license, auto liability insurance, and a reliable vehicle for transporting person-served; mileage reimbursement is offered. Full-time schedule with hours 9am–7pm; wage is $19.50/hour; requires ability to drive within a 30-mile radius; equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Associates in relevant field OR two years equivalent experience in working with developmentally disabled and/or mental illness, as determined by the supervisor
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record, auto liability insurance, and a reliable vehicle to transport person-served
- Willing to drive a 30-mile radius
- Must be at least 18 years old or 21 years old depending on the person-served
- Adept in the use of technology and possess a smart device with adequate data
- Good communication skills (reading, writing) to document care and follow support plans
- Flexibility and teamwork orientation
- Experience working with developmentally disabled and/or mental illness (two years preferred)
- Background in health, safety, and wellness
- Experience with personal care, meal prep, transportation, housekeeping, and laundry
