Job Summary
The Community Support Specialist (CSS) is responsible for delivering a range of community support services tailored to the needs of children and families. Key responsibilities include assisting families in accessing educational, medical, social, and recreational services, assessing the strengths and service needs of children, and developing personalized interventions to measure progress. The CSS will provide crisis intervention as needed and maintain current community resources. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and two years of direct experience, along with the ability to implement evidence-based practices and flexibility for family schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field
- At least two years of experience working directly with children and families
- Must meet certification requirements through the Mississippi Department of Mental Health
- Demonstrate competence in implementing evidence-based practices
- Competence in completing reports related to payment for services
- Computer skills required
- Availability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Must be at least 23 years of age
- Valid Mississippi driver license
- Good driving record
- Proof of auto liability insurance
- Willingness to use personal vehicle for agency business
