Community Support Specialist

Job Summary
Coordinate support services and identify needed resources to help employees with disabilities succeed in the job setting. Conduct on-site visits to assess individual strengths and needs, then develop and maintain employment plans. Partner with community organizations and stakeholders to connect staff with external supports while maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance standards. Respond appropriately to safety concerns involving abuse or neglect by coordinating with Adult Protective Services and other agencies. Maintain accurate employee records and monitor progress toward established goals. Collaborate across all organizational sectors to promote a positive work environment that upholds core values of teamwork, respect, and empowerment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services or related field
- Three (3) years experience with intellectual and developmental disabilities and case management
- Experience in human services resource collaboration
- Must be able to pass a national background check ensuring no criminal history
- Must not be identified as a perpetrator on the national sexual abuse or elderly abuse registries
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- A valid Driver's License
- Reliable transportation to be able to travel throughout the Goodwill of Middle Tennessee community
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check consistent with organizational policy and applicable law
