Job Summary
Design and deliver inclusive art programming for adults with developmental disabilities across Day Habilitation and community-based settings in Brooklyn and Staten Island. Facilitate group and individual art sessions, teach art history and current trends, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote creative expression, skill development, and community inclusion. Develop promotional materials, coordinate logistics (staffing and transportation) for museum/gallery tours and classes, ensure a safe and confidential environment, stay current with advances in art and adaptive technology, and travel between program locations. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent; 1 year of art-instruction experience preferred; salary $25-$27/hour ($52,000-$56,160 annually) and evening/weekend availability.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year experience teaching or facilitating art activities, preferably with individuals with developmental disabilities or diverse populations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to travel between program locations
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed for events and performances
- Ability to lift, move and position the people we support in beds, wheelchairs, toilets, showers, vans, etc.
