Job Summary
Community Services Supervisor role at The Salvation Army Canada/Bermuda region, leading multi-function community-based programs, overseeing Food Bank and Family Services, coordinating volunteers, managing finances, IT, and property matters, while embodying Gospel values and linking clients to church programs where appropriate. Key duties include staff supervision and performance evaluations, program development and reporting, volunteer recruitment and retention, public relations and fundraising support, budget management, compliance with policies, and ensuring quality service delivery in a faith-based nonprofit setting. Requires post-secondary education (Bachelor’s+), five years’ related experience, three years of management experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and a valid driver’s license. Travel up to 10% and evening/weekend flexibility expected.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a formal post-secondary/college/University program of four academic years in either, social services, business, economics, administration, and equivalent work experience.
- Must possess valid driver’s license.
- A minimum of five years of related experience.
- A minimum of three years of management experience in a related field or non-profit is necessary.
- Experience of three years is required in office administration, budgeting, and social services.
- Familiarity with non-profit funding processes and procedures, fundraising, human resource legislation and practice; purchasing procedures; property maintenance issues; and information systems issues and processes.
- Ability to lift and/or move a minimum of 35 pounds.
- Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully.
