Job Summary
Telecommunicator for the City of Temple serving as a liaison between the public and local law enforcement. Responsibilities include acting as front desk, handling emergency and non-emergency calls, routing calls to appropriate officials, entering data into CAD, retrieving data from NCIC/TCIC, notarizing statements, processing monetary transactions, and providing back-up monitoring of holding cells and department entryways. Requires availability for flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, with a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of customer-service experience; proficiency with typing and 10-key; successful criminal background check and polygraph; bilingual English/Spanish and TCOLE Telecommunications Officer certification preferred. City policies and safety guidelines must be followed; duties may include other tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of experience in customer service or related area
- Proficiency in typing and 10-key as determined by the department
- Pass extensive criminal background check and polygraph exam and evaluation
