Job Summary
Direct the campus community and visitors regarding parking services, enforce University regulations by issuing citations, and accurately register vehicles and issue permits. Place reserved and temporary signage, register vehicles, and perform general office duties as assigned. Provide behind-the-wheel familiarization to students on University and state-owned vans while maintaining a valid driver's license. Work assigned shifts between 7 AM and 7 PM Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend hours required. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Required Qualifications
- Consistently provide exemplary customer service under sometimes difficult circumstances
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Work with minimal supervision
- Use MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and general working knowledge of tablet style devices
- Knowledge of basic computer skills
- Must be able to work assigned shifts as scheduled between the hours of 7AM-7PM Mon-Fri; occasional weekend work hours may be required
- Ability to communicate with the general public in a respectful and effective manner
- Ability to place temporary signage
- Must maintain a valid drivers license
- High School or equivalent training and experience
- Some related job experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience, that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities for this position
- Possession of a valid drivers license, with an acceptable driving record
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to analyze needs and implement solutions for various requests for reserved and temporary parking
- Knowledge of, or the ability to obtain such knowledge of, University parking regulations and City of Fredericksburg parking ordinances
- Ability to generate reports and monitor key performance indicators within the parking operation
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
- Some prior work experience in customer service or parking management, preferably in a higher education setting
