Community Schools After School Site Director

Job Summary

Plan, organize, and supervise all after-school and summer camp program activities while ensuring compliance with NC Child Care Licensing and district policies. Create a safe, developmentally appropriate environment for students in grades K-5 by providing age-appropriate materials, directing daily activities on Teacher Workdays, and implementing field trips. Solicit ideas from students, parents, and staff to enhance programming, then compile site newsletters and manage site-based advisory committees. Supervise Assistant Site Directors, group leaders, and volunteers; prepare daily activity plans, monitor attendance and medical records, and conduct monthly fire drills. Evaluate staff performance, manage expenses, report repairs, and collaborate with school administrators to build strong relationships. Maintain compliance with OSHA standards, National School Lunch regulations, and emergency procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Elementary Education or related field
  • Documentation of TB test results, dated and signed by a medical practitioner licensed in NC by first day of employment
  • Documentation of a Medical Report within thirty days of first day of employment
  • Documentation of six hours required staff orientation completed within the first two weeks of employment
  • Documentation of additional three hours required staff orientation completed within first six weeks of employment
  • Documentation of OSHA, Diabetes, Allergy and Managing Behavior I&II Training completed within first month of employment
  • Documentation of Basic School-Age Care (BSAC) Training completed within sixty days of employment
  • Documentation of CPR, SFA and Playground Safety certification
  • Documentation of 15 hours staff development completed annually
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards

Desired Qualifications

  • One year administrative experience
  • One year experience managing and supervising a licensed after-school program or child care center
  • CPR, Standard First Aid, and Playground Safety certification
