Job Summary
Community School Coordinator leads the implementation of the Community School strategy for Faribault Public Schools, aligned with the National Center for Community Schools framework. The role builds partnerships among students, families, school staff, and community organizations to support academic success and whole-child development, overseeing integrated student supports, family engagement, and out-of-school time programming. Responsibilities include planning and improving Community School strategies, coordinating before-school, after-school, evening, summer, and non-school day programming, managing the Family Welcome Center/Resource Room, connecting families to basic needs, developing referral and follow-up systems, engaging families as partners, facilitating leadership teams, supervising program staff and volunteers, coordinating OST logistics, ensuring district policy compliance, tracking participation and outcomes, and assisting with budgeting and fiscal monitoring for program implementation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Youth Development, Social Work, Human Services, Community Development, or related field.
- Minimum of two years' experience in education, youth development, or community-based settings.
- Experience developing youth programs and working with families and community partners.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Commitment to equity and culturally responsive practices
- Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends.
Desired Qualifications
- Three or more years in a school-based or Community School setting.
- Experience coordinating OST or expanded learning programs, supervising staff/volunteers, and managing data/grant reporting.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish and/or Somali.
- Familiarity with the Community School model and NCCS key practices.
- Compensation & Benefits - Salary complements skills, experience, and qualifications with a 260-day contract of $66,051 per year.
