Job Summary
Support clients with daily living skills including cooking, cleaning, medication supervision, and personal care while teaching healthy routines and modeling independent living. Help individuals connect with community resources, attend social activities, and set wellness goals through compassionate counseling during stress or crisis. Monitor client safety, home cleanliness, and medication supplies, performing minor maintenance duties like snow shoveling and lawn care. Maintain accurate documentation, participate in team meetings and safety drills, and coordinate with case managers, families, and healthcare providers. Work directly with adults experiencing severe mental illness in residential and community settings across program sites. Valid Maine driver's license required; flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Maine driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Comfortable with flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Able to lift up to 35 lbs
- Able to climb stairs
- Able to respond to home emergencies as needed
Desired Qualifications
- At least 2–3 years of experience in community-based mental health work
- MHRT-I certification
- Willingness to obtain MHRT-I certification within 12 months
