Community Prevention and Parenting Support Specialist

Job Summary
Coordinate community outreach and reception services by answering calls, directing inquiries to appropriate resources, and providing referrals for substance use prevention, parenting education, and crisis support. Disseminate information on CDAC programs, ATOD, and wellness initiatives while promoting the Parenting for Prevention effort through informational booths at health fairs and other community events. Assist with logistical planning for workshops and educational displays, prepare materials, and facilitate scheduled activities to drive community engagement. Maintain accurate records, reports, and data collection for program evaluation, ensuring compliance with agency policies and confidentiality regulations. Collaborate with the Director of Community Prevention and referral agencies to support program implementation and follow-up activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, Education, or health education field
- High School Diploma with a CPP (Certified Prevention Professional) or CPS (Certified Prevention Specialist)

- Knowledge of drug information, prevention concepts, and education field
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Ability to manage multiple job tasks with continuously changing priorities
- Experience working with at-risk and culturally diverse population
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and other computer related tasks
- provide reliable personal transportation to and from the office and partner agency locations as needed
