Job Summary
Community Policing Deputies develop and maintain relationships with citizens, businesses and other community organizations, conducting patrols by bicycle, on foot or in an official vehicle to deter crime. They meet with business and civic groups, engage with community action planners, investigate citizen complaints, stay current on laws, may make lawful arrests and testify in court, and file detailed reports. They also participate in community events and collaborate with local law enforcement and community resource agencies to provide information and assistance to residents. The role requires POST certification with at least one year of full-time experience and firearms qualification.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a POST certified peace officer in a fulltime position and maintain firearms qualification.
- Must have good communication, public relation, and problem-solving skills.
