Job Summary
Community Philanthropy Manager, Direct Response role responsible for directing The Trevor Project’s integrated direct/digital fundraising campaign strategy, coordinating with an external fundraising agency/vendor network, and overseeing implementation of integrated direct/digital campaigns (direct mail, email, digital ads, SEM, mobile, social) with emphasis on segmentation, testing, and donor engagement. The position leads project management of campaigns (via Asana), manages vendor relationships (printing, mail houses, etc.), ensures ethical practices, fosters diversity and inclusion, collaborates across teams (Individual Philanthropy, Development Operations, Marketing/Communications/Content), and drives data-driven decision making in donor data management and campaign execution. Qualifications include 3-5 years in direct response marketing, expertise in direct/digital fundraising practices, proficiency with email/SMS platforms (e.g., MailChimp), Salesforce (preferred), Google Suite, data segmentation, and strong written/spoken English. The role is remote within the continental United States, Alaska, or Hawaii and is classified as Exempt Full Time with union status.
Required Qualifications
- Previous direct response marketing experience at an agency, nonprofit, or higher education institution with 3-5 years minimum experience
- Deep knowledge of direct response marketing and fundraising for individual gifts
- Proficiency in direct marketing best practices including A/B testing and creating fundraising appeals for digital and print
- Experience with digital tools including email marketing and SMS/mobile giving platforms
- Analytical with data segmentation skills; comfortable with Google Docs/Sheets/Presentations
- Strong experience with fundraising software (Salesforce preferred) and understanding of donor acquisition, retention, moves management
- Experience developing HTML emails and SMS messages in platforms such as MailChimp and texting tools
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
