Job Summary
Lead referral family support by gaining insights into family needs and community environments to guide goal-setting, provide home-based resource connections, and initiate referrals with local community supports. Advocate for families to exceed progress goals while attending transportation to programs and assisting during crisis situations. Maintain relationships with social workers, agencies, and school systems to facilitate prevention and progress monitoring services. Thoroughly complete required documentation for all engagements. Valid driver's license with clean record required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or a directly-related human service field from an accredited college
- Other Bachelor's degrees will be accepted in combination with three years' experience working directly with families in a human service field
- Associate's degrees in a related human services field with three years' experience working directly with families in a human service field
- High School Diploma or equivalent with five years' experience working directly with families in a human service field
- 2 + years of experience in social service for children or families
- Experience in child development
- Knowledge of community resources programs
- Train in recognizing abuse or neglect
- Handle a variety of situations that may arise during visitations
- Valid driver's license with valid insurance and no more than 6 points on driving record
