Job Summary

Provide direct support and personal care to individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism in homes and the community, facilitating the implementation of their Plan of Care and Person-Centered Support Plans. Assist the Supervisor with onboarding, training, coaching, and ensuring compliance with local, county, and state regulatory agencies. Foster a positive team culture by collaborating with families, community partners, and fellow professionals to promote consumer choice and empowerment. Evaluate operational risks and maintain effective communication channels with funding sources and other agencies. This role requires regular travel to Lehighton, Pottsville, and Bartonsville with a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle. Candidates must have two years of direct care experience and a high school diploma or GED.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid US driver's license for at least two years, not including time with permit
  • No serious traffic convictions within the past three years
  • Access to a reliable vehicle during work hours
  • Valid auto insurance
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Two years of direct care experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
  • Maintain a working knowledge of current trends and developments in the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) field or Mental Health field
  • Ability to establish trusting relationships with individuals served
  • Commitment to consumer choice and empowerment
  • Ability to express ideas succinctly, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff
  • Proficiency in, or ability to learn and use, workplace applications, platforms and technologies including Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, and the electronic healthcare record system
  • Ability to navigate computers and work-related systems
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, special education, counseling, social work or gerontology
  • Designation/certification as Certified Nursing Assistant (CAN), Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCABA)
