Job Summary
Conduct community outreach and early engagement activities throughout the Portland metro area to connect Latino/a/x individuals with behavioral health, recovery, and social services. Build trust by visiting clients in homes, shelters, clinics, and places of worship to provide advocacy, education, and support in overcoming barriers to care. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community partners to coordinate services and assist patients in achieving personal recovery goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bilingual Spanish and English
- Experience working within the Latino/a/x community
- QMHA-R eligible through MHACBO or CADC-R certification
- Knowledge of behavioral health, recovery, and community resources
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and advocacy skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the community
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate's degree or higher in health or social service related field of study
- Registered with MHACBO to meet, at minimum, QMHA-R requirements OR At minimum, CADC-R
- Current CPR certification prior to start
- Meet CCC privileging requirements as required by FTCA
- High tolerance for ambiguity and change
- Working knowledge of behavioral health terminology
- Must meet qualifications and registered in MHACBO for: QMHA-R or QMHA-1
- CADC-R or CADC-2 or 3
- Must have experience working with the Latino/a/x culture
- Must have current CPR certification prior to start
- Must meet CCC privileging requirements as required by FTCA
- Must have a high tolerance for ambiguity and change
- Must have a working knowledge of behavioral health terminology
- Physical ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull and lift heavy objects
- Must be able to climb stairs several times a day
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB test, and background check
- Clearance by the DHS Background Check Unit
- Must possess a current driver's license
- Pass a DMV background check and be designated an 'acceptable' driver
- Must pass an initial driver's training within 60 days of being an approved driver
- Must undergo continued recertification training
- Must adhere to agency's non-discrimination policies
- Ability to effectively interact with co-workers and clients with diverse ethnic backgrounds, religious views, cultural backgrounds, life-styles, and sexual orientations
- Ability to display a non-judgmental attitude
- Demonstrated knowledge of community and social service agencies
- Sufficient manual dexterity and physical ability to perform assigned tasks
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
- Ability to manage time and meet deadlines
- Ability to work courteously and effectively communicate with the general public, clients, medical personnel, corrections personnel, police, and co-workers
- Ability to maintain accurate records and necessary paperwork
- Ability to provide leadership
- Ability to apply principles learned to new situations
- Ability to effectively interact with co-workers and clients with diverse ethnic backgrounds, religious views, cultural backgrounds, life-styles, and sexual orientations and treat each individual with respect and dignity
