Job Summary
Community Outreach role to advocate for veterans and their families, focusing on accessibility to the program for homeless veterans. Develop and maintain community partnerships, facilitate the application process (referrals, document collection, participant screening), conduct outreach to locate homeless veterans, maintain records (asset maps, outreach trackers, mileage logs), and deliver presentations to promote program goals. Requires experience with homeless populations and knowledge of housing/social services sectors; minimum high school diploma with bachelor’s preferred, plus at least two years in community engagement/communications and a valid driver’s license. Full-time position based in Reading, PA with in-person duties and engagement with community partners and meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum two (2) years working in relevant community engagement and communications field, preferably with programs dealing with poverty, homelessness and personal development
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and insurance
