Job Summary
Conduct outreach to people who use drugs, people experiencing homelessness, and communities while educating on overdose prevention and distributing supplies. Describe FGC programs, services, and eligibility requirements in layman's terms to individuals struggling with opioid and alcohol addiction, informing them to gain immediate access to treatment. Develop and direct prospective referrals to FGC and other treatment providers following patients' needs and wishes. Perform field-based spectrometer testing, including running samples on the FTIR, interpreting results, and logging all data. Update the FGC Master Drug Checking data sheet at the end of each day. This role supports behavioral health through innovation and compassionate care at 2630 S. Wabash Ave., Chicago, IL.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in behavioral health
- Community health outreach
- Substance use harm reduction
- Withdrawal management programs
- Medication-assisted treatment
- Community relations
- DCFS clearance
- Current driver's license
- Vehicle insurance
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- Certification as a Recovery Support Specialist
