Job Summary

Recruit, train, and manage a team of two fellows while canvassing communities to mobilize student voters. Execute high-visibility events on climate, jobs, and justice, coordinating yard sign requests and rapid response actions. Maintain meticulous records of volunteer interactions, track daily campaign metrics, and submit weekly reports. Ensure all messaging and legal requirements are met across digital and in-person channels. Work weekends and weekday evenings to support the election campaign through August 24th and Election Day.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Must meet driver authorization standards
  • Must be local to Springfield and the surrounding areas
  • Must be able to work weekends and weekday evenings
  • Must be able to work occasional holidays
  • Must be able to speak publicly to a group
  • Must have experience accomplishing ambitious goals and getting results
  • Must have experience or ability to plan backwards to meet multiple goals timely and effectively
  • Must be able to bounce back and adjust quickly when there are unexpected changes
  • Must be able to manage a team of 2 fellows
  • Must be able to lead from the front by canvassing themselves
  • Must be able to move volunteers through the leadership pipeline
  • Must be able to hit the ground running
  • Must be able to keep meticulous track of a volunteer list
  • Must be able to hold regularly scheduled petitioning canvasses
  • Must be able to represent the campaign through participation in community spaces and events
  • Must be able to engage and uplift coalition and partner organizations
  • Must be able to organize and execute high-visibility in-person events
  • Must be able to educate community members about historical climate investments and the urgency of continued actions
  • Must be able to nail 100% of all messaging and legal requirements
  • Must be able to demonstrate public support by recruiting volunteers to post on their own social media platforms
  • Must be able to use peer-to-peer texting services and relational organizing tools
  • Must be able to send timely and compelling email campaigns
  • Must be able to track every interaction with detailed notes
  • Must be able to report numbers daily
  • Must be able to write weekly reports on the results of the campaign
  • Must have a commitment to equity and justice
  • Must have experience bringing a lens of inclusivity to all interactions with colleagues and community members
  • Must have passion for the role that work plays in creating change in the world

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working for nonprofits, electoral campaigns, and/or other issue campaigns
  • Data Management and Evaluation Experience
  • Experience with Relevant Campaign Tools and Technologies
  • Event or Project Planning & Management, Implementation or Evaluation
  • Knowledge or previous experience working on this issue
