Job Summary
Collaborate with department directors and nursing staff to identify unit-specific educational needs and prevent redundancies in training efforts. Facilitate orientation programs for new employees and provide ongoing coaching to preceptors while assessing formal and informal educational requirements. Teach programs using adult learning principles, evaluate learning objectives, and incorporate research findings into clinical practice guidelines and policy development. Act as a community resource for staff inquiries regarding best evidence, current protocols, and procedures while participating indirectly in patient care delivery. Requires a current Kentucky RN license, three years of acute care experience, and a BSN; offers retirement plans and a preventive plan.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license or work permit in Kentucky
- Three (3) years of acute care experience in the designated specialty within the last five (5) years
- BSN from accredited nursing program
- Basic Life Support certification
- ACLS/PALS/NRP/TNCC/ENPC certifications as required by department of assignment
- Employment with Baptist Health is subject to post offer, pre-employment drug testing
Desired Qualifications
- Certification as Professional Development Specialist (PDS)
