Job Summary
Provide comprehensive educational advocacy and support to 5th through 8th graders and their families, ensuring students receive necessary school services to succeed academically. Deliver individualized assistance for high school and middle school selection processes, track applications via online platforms, and refer students to tutoring, special education evaluations, and specialized high school test prep. Coordinate with case planners and families for Family Team Conferences, monitor academic milestones in the Connections system, and connect youth to extracurricular activities. This role supports Graham Windham's Solution-Based Casework approach, empowering youth to overcome challenges like poverty and abuse by building a foundation for thriving in school and the world.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum one year experience working with the educational school system
- Knowledge of NYC DOE policies
- Solution-focused and Dependable: Works with others to solve problems, acknowledges mistakes and successes, and follows through on commitments
- Respectful: Has strong personal integrity and wants to participate in a culture that celebrates vibrant and diverse spiritual and ideological perspectives, racial, ethnic, and gender identities, and sexual orientations
