Job Summary
Community Manager at Sycamore House in Durand, MI (Part-Time). Responsibilities include leasing activities (inquiries, greetings, showings, applications, deposits, income/credit verification, renewals), maintaining positive resident relations and a welcoming property image, rent collection and delinquency handling, financial reporting and budgeting, compliance with SHFA and lender/investor commitments, maintaining files and certifications, coordinating inspections and capital improvements, and providing excellent customer service to residents, families, and staff. Requires 18+ with a high school diploma or GED, experience in affordable housing programs (LIHTC, Section 8, HUD preferred), strong sales and customer-service skills, leadership ability, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and willingness to travel to community locations. Physical duties include lifting up to 15 pounds and navigating properties with stairs; valid driver’s license and insurance are required. Travel to surrounding markets and after-hours responsiveness are expected.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in affordable housing programs including LIHTC, Section 8, and HUD preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Travel to community locations and surrounding markets required
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer and standing and walking, giving tours, and meeting with potential tenants
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and insurance
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at a time
- Must be able to traverse a variety of properties with stairs and in a variety of weather conditions
