Job Summary

Community Manager for Sunset Estates manufactured housing community in El Dorado Hills, CA. Manages day-to-day operations, vendor oversight, lease enforcement, rent collection, and regulatory compliance. On-site, independent role supervising one maintenance technician and one part-time Clubhouse Monitor. Requires California Housing and Community Development (HCD) Salesperson License within 30 days of hire. Responsibilities include maintaining property appearance, light maintenance and groundskeeping, conducting utility meter readings, resident relations, enforcing lease agreements and community rules, overseeing move-ins, staff coaching, and liaising with residents, vendors, and authorities. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills with experience in rent collection, delinquency management, occupancy strategies, onboarding and training, and ensuring compliance with Fair Housing and Equal Housing Opportunity requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ years’ experience managing a manufactured housing or multifamily community of 100+ units
  • Must obtain and maintain a California Housing and Community Development (HCD) Salesperson License within 30 days of hire
  • Must be comfortable working independently in a single-person onsite office environment
  • Willingness to perform both administrative and light physical tasks as needed to support community operations
  • Ability to walk the community regularly and perform outdoor duties in varying weather conditions
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster positive relationships with residents and collaborate effectively with team members
  • Exceptional organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle conflict resolution, complaints, and provide a high level of customer service tailored to the community demographic
  • Experience with rent collection and delinquency management
  • Be able to identify areas for improvement and offer suggestions to improve the efficiency, productivity, and profitability of the property
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service, including responsiveness to tenant needs and community engagement
  • Ability to handle complaints and ensure community standards are upheld
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with tenants, contractors, and local authorities
  • Familiarity with property management software and basic accounting systems
  • Marketing and sales skills to promote vacant lots or homes and maintain high occupancy rates
