Job Summary
Provide one-on-one support and direct instruction to individuals with disabilities in their homes and community settings. Teach essential independent living skills including personal hygiene, meal preparation, household tasks, and daily routines. Assist participants with community activities such as shopping, medical appointments, recreational outings, and public transportation training while monitoring safety and implementing behavior support strategies. Complete accurate daily service notes, incident reports, and progress updates in compliance with agency policies and state regulations. Mandatory paid training is provided before independent work begins.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire)
- Negative TB test
- Department of Justice fingerprint clearance (prior to employment)
- Genuine passion for caregiving and supporting individuals with disabilities
