Job Summary
Provide one-on-one direct care and instruction to individuals with disabilities in homes and community settings. Teach essential independent living skills including personal hygiene, meal preparation, household tasks, and daily routines while supporting social and communication development. Assist with community activities such as shopping, appointments, and recreational outings. Monitor participant safety, manage medication reminders, and implement behavior support strategies. Complete accurate daily service notes, incident reports, and progress updates. Maintain confidentiality and follow agency policies. Mandatory paid training provided before independent work begins.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire)
- Negative TB test
- Department of Justice fingerprint clearance (prior to employment)
- Genuine passion for caregiving and supporting individuals with disabilities
