Job Summary
The Life Enrichment Coordinator works with the Life Enrichment Team planning, scheduling and coordinating meaningful activities appropriate to the needs and interests of residents and conducive to their physical, mental and social well-being. Responsibilities include researching and planning community events and programs, publishing an engaging monthly program calendar, coordinating relationships with entertainers/speakers, recruiting/training volunteers, decorating for holidays/events, facilitating programs including some nights/weekends/holidays with possible overtime, greeting residents and delivering excellent customer service, assisting in transporting residents to activities, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations, and performing other duties as assigned. The role requires strong communication, planning and presentation skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, ability to work independently and in a team, and a compassionate understanding of elderly residents. A college degree is preferred but not required, and at least one year of elder-care experience is expected.
Required Qualifications
- At least one year of experience working in an elder care community setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to produce professional memoranda/reports
- Ability to communicate clearly and present information to groups and individuals
- Ability to work independently in a multi-task environment and as part of a team
- Ability to balance, climb, crouch, reach, stand and stoop; capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Professional demeanor and strong customer-service orientation toward residents and staff
- Ability to plan events, plan calendars, and coordinate programs
- Willingness to participate in some nights, weekends, and holidays and possible overtime
- HIPAA knowledge or compliance understanding
- Experience researching and planning community events and programs
- Strong writing and oral communication skills
- Ability to recruit, train, and manage volunteers
- Comfort with data analysis and basic IT competencies
