Job Summary
Counsel students one on one regarding academic, attendance, and personal problems while providing motivation and recognition for high-risk students. Assist in crisis resolution within home and school environments, contacting families via phone or home visits to secure essential resources like food, clothing, and medical treatment. Coordinate meetings among school staff, parents, students, and community agencies to facilitate academic success and responsible life skills development. Offer career planning, college application assistance, and vocational training opportunities, transporting students in emergencies as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Volunteer or work experience in community agencies or schools
- Valid driver's license
- Knowledge of the parenting and of the educational needs and experiences of families
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
