Job Summary
The Community Lending Officer will sell and originate residential mortgage loans to meet predetermined sales goals in CRA assessment areas. Responsibilities include establishing relationships with community organizations, real estate agents, and governmental agencies; assisting in community outreach activities; and ensuring compliance with CRA requirements. The role involves preparing loan applications promptly, qualifying self-employed borrowers, and maintaining loan files throughout the process. Knowledge of mortgage policies and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse communities are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Establish and maintain relationships with community-based organizations, realtors, and governmental agencies
- Identify and meet with prospects, explain various mortgage products available
- Turn in a completed loan application within 48 hours of receipt
- Maintain responsibility for the loan file from application through closing
- Participate in civic and community development organizations that contribute to WTB’s CRA objectives
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to speak Mandarin/Cantonese fluently preferred
- Knowledge of real estate and mortgage banking industry
- Knowledge of Truth-in-Lending and compliance with government regulations
- Knowledge of conventional, FHA, VA, and construction loan policies and procedures
