Job Summary
Assure patients meet legal and hospital requirements for voluntary or involuntary admission and participation in treatment plans. Communicate with the legal system, community mental health centers, families, and hospital personnel regarding admission criteria, discharge information, and patient status including home visits and convalescent leave. Coordinate court proceedings by notifying staff of appearance times and ensuring attendance, while maintaining current records of involuntary patients' legal status. Secure necessary documents for continued treatment and notify relevant parties of unauthorized departures. Provide on-call back-up for after-hours involuntary admissions and court contact efforts. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Kentucky Mental Health statutes and ARH policies regarding admission and treatment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Bachelor's Degree in field of Social Work, Psychology or a related field
- minimum of two (2) years experience in a mental health setting
- Basic Life Support
