Job Summary
Conduct daily support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by facilitating community activities, assisting with personal care, and providing transportation to appointments. Coordinate community events aligned with individual interests while documenting services to maintain compliance with CMS, DODD, OOD, and CARF standards. Teach new skills in real-world settings and ensure safe, healthy environments through consistent mentorship and encouragement. Work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at ARC Voyagers in Columbus, OH, where you will help build personalized paths toward independence and inclusion for over 60 years of service.
Required Qualifications
- 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift, bend, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
- People-focused with a positive, patient, and encouraging attitude
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable working independently while staying organized and professional
- Passionate about helping individuals achieve personal goals and community inclusion
- Ability to adapt, problem-solve, and provide person-centered support
- Valid State of Ohio Driver's License
- Insurability standards
- Must submit to a BCII/FBI background check
- Must submit to Nurses Aid & Abuser Registry checks
- American Red Cross or equivalent first aid and CPR certification
- Complete eight hours of training as required by The Ohio Department of Developmental upon hire
- Must pass a physical and drug screen
