Community Impact Coordinator

Job Summary

Coordinate district-wide community engagement initiatives and build partnerships with local organizations, schools, and nonprofits. Recruit, train, and support volunteers while developing policies and procedures to strengthen community connections. Represent the Park District at events to promote programs and evaluate effectiveness to recommend improvements. Collaborate with staff across departments to identify barriers to participation and expand access to parks and recreation for underserved populations. Work flexible hours including evenings and weekends to lead meaningful outreach and shape programs that meet diverse community needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in public engagement, community outreach, or related field
  • Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation Management, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Community Development, Human Services, or a closely related field
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated interest in diverse program areas, with an ability to understand and appreciate the perspective of a wide variety of individuals
  • Experience working in multicultural and diverse environments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and effectively utilize web-based software systems
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of park and recreation programming a plus
