Job Summary
Prepare accurate patient charts, track care-related data, and complete prior authorizations for medications and referrals. Coordinate return appointments across medical, behavioral health, and dental services while administering social needs screenings and providing community resource lists during on-site visits. Document all interactions in real time within the electronic health record and participate in daily huddles to support care management. Maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation and adhere to OSHA guidelines for safe medical waste handling.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED)
- Minimum of one (1) year working in a medical office setting
- Certification in Medical Assisting through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) - certification must be obtained after hire and prior to providing direct patient care
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and First Aid - certification must be obtained after hire and prior to providing direct patient care
