Job Summary
Conduct research and prepare funding proposals while ensuring programs and services remain adequately funded. Coordinate and book health-related workshops, programs, and information sessions for community members. Liaise with health care providers, government agencies, and partners to assist members in accessing services and resolving health benefits concerns. Provide health outreach support, including bringing supplies to patients unable to pick them up, and arrange transportation for medical appointments, treatments, and cultural events. Maintain confidential patient travel information and submit monthly reports regarding member appointments and upcoming events. Promote healthy lifestyles and community health education through wellness clinics and speaker engagements.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 graduation (Dogwood or BC Adult Graduation Diploma)
- 2 years related experience
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 2 years' experience managing, directing and leading employees
- Valid standard first aid and CPR certificate
- Class 5 driver's licence
- Reliable vehicle
- Clean driver's abstract
- Appropriate insurance
- Clean criminal record check with Vulnerable Sector
Desired Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in, community development, or human services or related field
- Experience planning and promoting events
- Experience working with people from all age groups (e.g. babies – elderly)
- Experience keyboarding; creating and manipulating word documents, spreadsheets, data bases and other computer applications
- Experience working within a First Nation community
