Job Summary
Examine and assess pregnant women at booking to identify high-risk conditions, request investigations, and outline pregnancy and delivery plans under consultant supervision. Provide antenatal, postnatal, and inpatient care while maintaining patient dignity, and promptly escalate abnormal clinical conditions. Maintain complete electronic medical records, contribute to clinical audits, and participate in quality improvement activities. Competently perform obstetric ultrasound scans and strictly adhere to infection prevention and control protocols, including hand hygiene and aseptic technique. Ensure data confidentiality and follow established protocols for managing low-risk and high-risk pregnancies.
Required Qualifications
- Fully licensed to practice as a Community Health Officer (CHO) in Sierra Leone
- A Diploma or Degree in Community Health
- A valid professional registration with the relevant regulatory body
- Experience in managing low-risk and high-risk pregnancies, and postpartum women
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given
- Must not hold dual employment
- Willing to live and work fulltime in Kono, Sierra Leone
- Ability to work well in a team

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
