Community Health Nursing Supervisor

Job Summary
Provide program support for mandatory public health programs including immunization and communicable disease control across all nine Meadow Lake First Nations. Conduct ongoing assessment, monitoring, and evaluation of individual community health nurse practice to ensure alignment with community health priorities. Manage health activities focused on health promotion, injury prevention, and population health assessment through home care and primary care nursing. Travel extensively to four First Nations without primary care nursing while maintaining proficiency in computer software and demonstrating cultural sensitivity to First Nations beliefs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Nursing; Supervision; and First Nation Health Management/Administration
- Registered or eligible for registration with College of Registered Nurses (CRNS)
- Excellent interpersonal, time-management, and organizational skills
- Strong supervision/management skills
- Excellent communication (written/verbal) and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently, and within a multidisciplinary health team
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer software/hardware applications and programs
- Knowledgeable and sensitive to First Nations' culture and beliefs; issues and barriers
- Ability to fluently speak and understand Cree/Dene
- Ability to travel extensively
- Possession of a valid driver's license
- Proficient with computers, i.e., Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
- Current RCMP Security Clearance (Criminal Record Check inclusive of the Vulnerable Sector Check)
- Three (3) recent professional supervisory references

- Will be knowledgeable and sensitive to First Nations' culture and beliefs; issues and barriers
- Ability to fluently speak and understand Cree/Dene is considered a valuable asset
