Job Summary
The Community Health Analyst coordinates with community organizations to prevent disease and promote wellness, analyzes primary and secondary public health data, and leads the Community Health Assessment (CHA) and Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) with SCHD and partners. Responsibilities include leading CHA/CHIP activities (surveys, partner meetings, data collection, updates to CHA/CHIP), communicating CHA results to partners, writing CHA and CHIP reports, maintaining CHIP data systems, building relationships with internal and external partners, driving to meetings, and deploying to the field as needed during public health emergencies. The role requires collaboration with community groups, data analysis and reporting to stakeholders, and may involve field leadership and data dissemination through presentations, reports, posters, and peer‐reviewed articles. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, epidemiology/data analytics coursework, one year of data analysis/management experience, experience with community organizations, and a valid US driver’s license; FEMA IS 100, 200, and 700 must be completed within 30 days of employment. Preferred qualifications include five years in public health, Master’s degree in a related field, bilingual ability (English plus Spanish or Vietnamese), and additional data management experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as public health; public administration; a biological, medical or health science; or communications
- Three credit hours of coursework in epidemiological methods, data analytics and/or statistics
- One year of data analysis and data management experience
- Experience working with community organizations
- Valid US driver’s license without restrictions
- FEMA IS 100, 200, and 700 courses to be completed within 30 days of employment
