Job Summary
Provide mentoring and teaching services to individuals with developmental disabilities, focusing on daily living skills like money handling, socialization, cooking, and job search. Meet with assigned clients several times per week across varied locations in the Ellenville area, traveling to homes or community settings as needed. Assist with hygiene functions and perform lifting when required, while working on personal outcomes based on individual plans and observed strengths. Document each training session in appropriate databases, reporting progress and barriers to the Community Habilitation Supervisor. Attend required trainings and ensure all services adhere to individual rights and regulatory standards. Valid driver's license and experience with intellectual disabilities are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Must meet electronic (computer) and real-time technological reporting requirements to be an eligible candidate
- Prior experience with related populations, i.e. Intellectual Developmental Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Strong interpersonal and engagement skills
- Valid, Unrestricted Driver's License
- Ability to document services and understand regulations
- It is essential that Community Habilitation Worker know and protect individual's rights
- Must be able to lift or assist with hygiene functions for selected individuals
- Must be available to travel to the location assigned
- Must attend trainings as required
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must pass criminal background, fingerprinting and motor vehicle report check
