Job Summary

Coordinate forestry projects, manage resources, and oversee designated community sites while meeting strict deadlines and budget constraints. Acquire necessary resources and direct efforts involving team members, volunteers, and third-party contractors to deliver initiatives such as tree plantings, educational programs, and bilingual outreach campaigns. Collaborate with the Community Urban Forester to define objectives, monitor progress, and ensure quality control throughout the grant lifecycle. Engage courteously with City leadership, staff, and diverse community stakeholders to articulate project goals and impacts. Interpret and apply relevant rules, policies, and procedures to promote sustainability and climate adaptation practices within Pharr's urban forest.

Required Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of forestry practices, principles, and regulations
  • Strong project coordination skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective, courteous, and professional communication with City leadership, staff and community stakeholders
  • Highly adaptable and quick learner in changing environments
  • Ability to engage diverse community stakeholders effectively
  • Familiarity with sustainability and climate adaptation practices in forestry
  • Ability to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to manage multiple staff and volunteers effectively
  • Good self-management, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication including public presentations
  • Must pass a thorough criminal background check
